Rare 1940s Pea-Nut Club RAF Guinea Pig Club Fundraising Badge
Original vintage Pea-Nut Club fundraising badge dating from the 1940s, featuring the distinctive peanut design against a dark blue background.
The Pea-Nut Club was associated with fundraising in support of the famous Guinea Pig Club, whose members included badly burned RAF aircrew treated by pioneering plastic surgeon Sir Archibald McIndoe at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead during and following the Second World War.
A fascinating and unusual piece of British wartime social, medical and RAF history.
Original long pin fastening remains to the reverse, with age-related patina and wear consistent with its age. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
A wonderful little badge with a remarkable story behind it and an interesting addition to a collection of WWII, RAF, Guinea Pig Club or wartime fundraising memorabilia.
